4. This legal letter expires on August 31, 2018 and will not be renewed beyond that date, even if the collective agreement is exceeded by the application of the law. This letter of intent does not apply to a general salary increase or lump sum payment for a settlement agreement negotiated after August 31, 2018. (1) (a) This agreement applies to board officers who, as a precondition for their employment, must have a valid teaching certificate under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, the Province of Alberta, which is communed as a teacher or, if the context requires, a teacher. 1. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and enters into force on 1 September 2012 and is applicable until 31 August 2016 and applies automatically from year to year, unless, in one year, no more than one hundred and eighty (180) days and no less than sixty (60) days before the expiry date, one of the parties to the other party submits a written notification for the amendment of the agreement. 1.1 ”Transaction Agreement”: The following provincial collective agreements for the period as of April 1, 2017: – Government of Alberta and the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees, which respect Aboriginal people 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 12 – Alberta Health Services and United Nurses of Alberta – Alberta Health Services and the Health Sciences Association of Alberta – Alberta Health Services and Alberta Union of Provincial Employees – Auxiliary Nursing – Alberta Health Services and Alberta Union of Provincial Employees – General Support Services 1.6 ”Lump sum payment” means a one-time payment that corresponds to other one-time payments, sometimes called signature bonuses. The ”flat payment” does not explicitly include the continuation or extension of the lump sum payments currently provided for in existing transaction agreements between boards of directors and unions, which are listed in point 1.1 of this letter. (d) The paragraphs in which the agreement is allegedly violated. 2.7.1 The association and TEBA may at any time agree to negotiate revisions to the central points of the collective agreement. These changes will come into effect from the date the association and TEBA agree. (2) Exclusions: Notwithstanding clause (1), workers with the following names are excluded from this agreement: b) TEBA and the association may agree to proceed with a single arbitrator arbitration body instead of a three-member arbitration board. In this case, the TEBA and the Association will appoint, within 15 days of operation, a person acting as a single arbitrator after the agreement reached with a single arbitrator. If it is not possible to agree on the person as a single arbitrator, each party may request in writing that the Director of Mediation Services indicate the required appointment.
